The benchmark index BSE Sensex, for the first time ever, closed above crucial 40,267.62, up by 553.42-pts while frontline Nifty closed 12,088.55, up by 165.75-pts in Monday’s trading session.
Index heavyweights Reliance contributed 90.65 points to the gains on Sensex followed by HDFC, HDFC Bank, TCS and HUL adding different extents in weightage
Among the top gainers on the Nifty50 were Hero MotoCorp up 5.77%, followed by Asian paints up by 3.82%, Bajaj Auto up by 3.56%, IndusInd Bank up 3.28%, and Inidiabulls Housing up by 3.24%
Auto Stocks rallied with HeroMotor Corp, TVS Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Maruti among others, went up 2.40% to 5.77% in range.
Sectorally, all sectors, barring Nifty Media, ended in the green. Nifty Bank was at 31,653-level, up 0.89%. Nifty Auto closes up by 1.87%, Nifty Metal up by 1.75%, also FMCG and IT were up 1.43% and 1.24% respectively.
A slide in crude-oil prices and a hope in a rate-cut by the RBI stimulated the index rally on the first trading session for the month of June.
