Stock market indices opened flat with a negative note on Tuesday. The Indian rupee started trade with gains today and opened higher by 0.24pc at 69.84/USD. The rise in rupee came led by falls in Crude oil prices. The Brent crude oil for June settlement, declined to USD71.76/Pb, per barrel, with a fall of 28 cents.
The BSE Sensex during mid-morning hours at 11.35am declined over 158-pts at 38,909-levels and the NSE Nifty50 was down 50-pts points at 11,704 levels. JSW Steel, HCL Tech, BPCL, IOC and Dr.Reddys were among major gainers on the indices, while losers are Yes Bank, IndiaBulls Housing, IndusInd bank, Hero MOtoCorp and Bharti Infratel.
Among sectors, IT, Media, Metal were trading in the green, while the other all sectoral indices are trading in the red.
Shares of Yes Bank fell 27-percnet to Rs172.65 per share after the company posted a net loss of Rs15.1-billion in the Q4FY FY19 as provisions ROSE more than 8-fold.
