Markets witnessed index fall for 6th consecutive day on Wednesday, since the tariff war intensifies. The Sensex closed at 37,789-level, down by 487pts and the Nifty50 was at 11,359-levels down by 138.45pts. The Nifty Bank ended by 1pc at 28,994.40.
Among sectors, all sectoral indices were in red territory. Nifty Media was down more than 4.5pc, mainly dragged by ZEEL, followed by Realty down by 2.11pc, Pharma, Auto were also down by about one each
Zeel, Bajaj Finance, Reliance and Tata Motors and Bajaaj Finserve were among major Nifty losrs, while top gainers were Hindalco, UPL, Titan Company, AsianPaints and Cipla, up by near one percent each.
Stock exchange BSE Limited’s shares declined 4pc after reporting a 16.5pc fall in quarterly profit on Tuesday.
