Sensex, Nifty register worst weekly declines in 8-Weeks

Equity benchmarks Nifty and Sensex closed lower in the volatile session on Friday with markets gripped selling pressure in final hour of session. The benchmarks recorded their worst weekly falls since Mid-May, or eight weeks.

Closing Bell Gainers were Vedanta (+2.41%), SunPharma (+2.36%), Tata Steel (+2.29%), Asian Paint (+2.28%) and Yes Bank (+2.06%), while Losers include Wipro (-2.97%),  ONGC (-2.74%), Bajaj Finance (-2%)

Meanwhile, private lender IndusInd Bank shares closed at Rs.1517.05 down by 1.57% after reporting results. The Bank’s Q1FY20 profit reportedly is at Rs.1433 Cr v/s. Rs.1036 Cr. Gross NPA 2.15% v/s. 2.10% quarter on quarter.

Shares of Infosys closed at Rs.730.05 up by 1.19% from previous closing. The company on Friday reported its numbers for Q1FY20 with profit after tax at Rs3,800, while Revenue reportedly at Rs.21803 Cr.

Shares of Den Networks closed at Rs63.15 up by 0.40 from previous closing.  The company reported a profit at Rs11 Cr v/s loss of Rs.31Cr, year-on-year.
