Market climbed higher with benchmark indices rising 6-7 percent on Wednesday, in view of economic stimulus bill to deal with the fallout from the COVID19 outbreak.
The Sensex closed 1,862-pts higher at 28,536, while the Nifty-fifty jumped 517-pt to settle at 8,318.
The market mood was also positive after the FM Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced that the govt would immediacy announce a fiscal package to help the economy from the virus outbreak. Reliance, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, UPL, and Maruti-Suzuki were the top gainers on the Nifty, while IOC, IndusInd Bank, Coal India, Wipro and GAIL-India led the losses.
