Stock Markets closed moderately high on Tuesday amid weakness in Asian counterparts amid fourth quarter earnings of the Companies.
The BSE Sensex closed higher by 35.11 points to 34,651.24, whereas the NSE Nifty50 rose 20 points to close at 10,536.70. BSE Sector wise, Shares in Auto, Healthcare, Metal, Realty and Industrials gained over 1 pc, while O&G, Energy, FMCG and Utility sectors fell up to 0.41 pc.
On NSE, Nifty PSU Bank rose 3.25 percent led by SBI, Syndicate Bank, PNB, Bank of Baroda and Union Bank and so on.
Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Bajaj Finserve, State Bank of India (SBI), Tata Motors and Baja Auto Ltd were top gainers, whereas IOC, Ultra Tech, Bharti Infratel were among the major losers on NSE.
Nifty Metal index rose 1.77% by a rise in shares of JSW Steel (up 3.48 pc) followed by Coal India (up 3.05 pc) Hindalco Industries (up 2.89 pc) and Vedanta (up 2.16 pc).
Shares of State Bank of India (SBI) gained 4.60 pc on NSE even after the largest lender posted net loss of Rs 7718 crores in January-March 2018 quarter, as against a net profit of Rs 2814 crores in the previous corresponding period.
Shares of Bosch Limited surge 3.51 percent at Rs. 18,240.00 after the company reported standalone revenue for the quarter at Rs.3,158.03 crore, clocking 13.6 pc increase on Year-on-Year Basis.
