Benchmarks ended in green on Tuesday with the NSE Nifty gained 71.20 points to close at 11,008.05 whereas BSE Sensex rose 196.19 points to end at 36,519.96 on Tuesday.
Oil Marketing companies rallied in today’s trade with Hindustan Petroleum Corp (up 7.15%), Indian Oil Corp (up 4.89%), Bharat Petroleum Corp (up 3.07%), as top gainers on Nifty, followed by Hindalco, Axis Bank and SBI which went upto 3% in trade.
On the flip side, HUL, Bharti Airtel, Dr. Reddy’s, Tech Mahindra and Eicher Motors come out as the top losers in the Nifty index.
Nifty FMCG alone failed to perform, with the index ended 1.01 percent down on losses in HUL, Colgate Palmolive, Britannia, Marico and ITC.
Nifty PSU Bank Index was the top sectoral performer with the index rising 3.86 percent higher, with Union Bank, Bank of Baroda, and PNB which rose upto 6 percent, followed by the other gainers, in trade today.
