Sensex, Nifty hovered in positive territory after extending small gains and hitting fresh intraday high in mid-morning trade. At 11.30 am, the BSE Sensex rose 81.22 points or 0.26% at 31,241.03, while the Nifty50 gained 11.20 points or 0.12% at 9,746.95.
Market seen a little bit volatility in early trade and hovered in a range near the flat line. Stocks recovered positive terrain in morning trade and extended gains in mid-morning trade. Bargain pursue surfaced after indices witnessed last 7 days of losses.
Realty stocks advanced on bargain hunting after the recent battering. DLF Ltd up 1.03%, D B Realty rose 1.29%, Indiabulls Real Estate went up 1.17%, Unitech Ltd rose 0.01%, NBCC up 1.34%, Housing Development & Infrastructure rose 2.03%, and Oberoi Realty edged higher by 0.92%.
Cement stocks also gained. ACC cement rose 2.36%, Shree Cement rose 1.36%, Ambuja Cements up 1.2%, and UltraTech Cement gained 0.17%, and Grasim Industries advanced 1.3%.
Godrej Properties advanced 1.82% after the company announced that it has entered into a development programme agreement with the leading Bangalore-based real estate company, Manyata Developers to develop a project of group housing in East Bangalore.
Further, some buying activity visible in the Healthcare, Banks and Capital Goods companies stock, while the selling activity come out in the sectors such as Telecom, IT and Consumer Durables.
