Stock Mid-session: Nifty FMCG rise, HUL touch 1-year-high


Markets continue momentum with the NSE’s Nifty keep on above 12,200-level during mid-session, Wednesday. Meantime, the Nifty Consumer Goods index (FMCG) rose 614 points at 31,028.55 levels at around 1.50-pm.

The index which opened at 30,494.95 hit a high at 31,028.55 levels. Hindustan Unilever share price soared 5.29%, Godrej Consumer Products added 3.55 percent, and were among the top gainers on the FMCG index.

Further, Nestle India, Dabur India, Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Health Care, United Spirits, Tata Global beverages and Britannia Industries added 1 to 2 percent gains in the FMCG index. Hindustan Unilever recorded its one-year-high-level in share price today at Rs.2,272 on the NSE. The stock later in in the mid-session quoted at Rs2,268.85, up by 5.40 percent from the previous closing.

In the Nifty50 pack of stocks, 34 stocks witness buying pressure, while the remaining 16 stocks see some selling.

On the NSE, a total of 50 securities meanwhile touched a one-year-high levels in share pierce, which include Associated Alcohols & Breweries, Asian paints, Dabur India, Aster DM Healthcare.
