The 30-share index ended the day at 35,216 up 8.18 points while the 0 settled at 10,718, up 2.30 points.
ICICI Bank rose 6.45 percent at Rs. 308.50 and was the biggest gainer on the NSE index, after the bank’s net profit nearly halved to Rs 10.20 billion for the quarter ended March 31. The other Top gainers include Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Eicher Motors, Bharat Petroleum and SBI. On the other hand, HDFC, Zee Entertainment, Infosys were top losers on NSE.
Stock-specific actions continued on Tuesday amidst the quarter earning season of March 2018. Shares of Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd fell 1.89% at Rs. 2,555.95 on NSE after the company reported its earnings. Jubilant FoodWorks’ standalone profit for Q4 of 2017-18 was Rs 68 crore, while as against Rs 6.7 crore in the same period of 2016-17. Meanwhile, the company has approved a dividend of Rs 5 per equity share of Rs 10.
Tata Coffee Limited Drops By 7.20% to Rs 123.70 on NSE, after the company reported Sharp fall in Q4 Profits. Tata Coffee, a subsidiary of Tata Group, is a major producer of specialty coffee in India.
Stock of India’s largest chain of health clubs, Talwalkars Better Value Fitness Ltd, dropped again falling 4.93% to Rs. 61.65, while Shares of PC Jeweller dropped 16.55% down to Rs 200.50. The company announces a buyback of its shares on May 10.
