Markets witness slipping for the sixth consecutive session on Friday pursuing a sustained sell-off in global on coronavirus mayhem.
During the morning session at 10.20-am, the Sensex cracked 1085 points lower at 38660 marks, while the Nifty stood at 11302-mark, down by 330 points in trade.
All stocks on the Nifty and Sensex ended in the red, with all sectoral indices witnessing selling pressure.
The Nifty Metal index slipped the most, down by 5.54 percent with Tata Steel, Steel Authority of India, Jindal Steel, Vedanta, NMDC, and JSW Steel, falling between 6 to 8 percent. Major losers in the Nifty were Bajaj-Finance, Tata-Motors, Tata-Steel, Vedanta, and JSW Steel, whereas there are two gainers viz. NTPC and Dr.Reddys.
The most active stocks on the NSE were Bajaj Finance, SBIN, Reliance, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, IRCTC, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, HDFC (finance) and IndiaBull Housing.
