The Nifty of National Stock Exchange inched up 6.45 points or 0.06% to 10,331.60 in a fluctuated trade Friday, while the Sensex ended marginally higher aided by a late buying spree in energy, pharma and banking stocks amid dull global cues.
Markets ended flatter in choppy trade on the weekend. The 30-share sensitive index hit a low of 33,501.37 and a high of 33,697.51 before settling at 33,626.97, up 30.17 points or 0.09%.
Lupin, BCPL, Titan, Hindustan Petroleum Corpn, and Adani ports figured among top gainers on NSE. On the contrary, Bharti Airtel, Infosys, Vedanta, Coal India and HCL Tech lost steam.
Based on developments of the companies, among others, shares of Reliance Communication Limited rose 3.22% after the company has received conditional clearance from the NCLAT to go ahead with the sale of its tower assets, while shares of Sobha Limited surged 8 percent after the company said that its new sales volume in the Q-4 rose 40.4% at 10.15 lakh square feet.
Nifty Pharma index gained with Piramal Enterprises Limited (+4.01%), Aurobindo Pharma Limited (+3.05%), Lupin Limited (+2.83%), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited (+1,08%) Sun Pharma (+0.89%), Dr. Reddy (+0.52%) and Biocon Limited (+0.182%).
